Lauren Hamilton McConnell

Lauren McConnell is the Founder and Artistic Director of Southern Contemporary Ballet. She is from Montgomery, AL and trained with the Montgomery Ballet School. She went on to major in Dance and Education at Birmingham Southern College. Lauren then had a successful professional ballet career dancing with many companies around the U.S. including Montgomery Ballet, Northwest Florida Ballet, Connecticut Ballet, Ballet des Ameriques, and Ballet Theatre of Indiana. She also did many guesting appearances with several companies including Ballet Legato, CONNetic Dance, Meraki Dance Company, and Biloxi City Ballet.

After dancing professionally for almost 20 years Lauren decided to start a professional ballet company of her own. She has chosen Alpharetta, Ga as the home of Southern Contemporary Ballet. (AKA SoCo Ballet). She is very excited to bring the only professional ballet company to the city of Alpharetta.
